The smell of lilacs is an unforgettable spring harbinger. For year I tried to capture their scent by rolling the flowers in coconut milk or distilling them to make a hydrosol. Each times, I came up short. Well, 2022 was the year I figured out how to make lilac simply syrup with a hint of lemon juice. Just a tablespoon to a 1.5 tablespoon in sparkling water or your favorite mock/ cocktail makes you dream of that wonderful smell that simply lingers in the air.
Note: This product contains certified organic sugar. 11 grams per 1.5 tablespoon. 7 grams per tablespoon and little over 2 grams per teaspoon. Lilac is bitter by nature so it need the sugar.
